Calling microcredit undergrads -where do you want Grameen America to Unite Yes We Can Community Building Next?

Ideas welcomed at http://futurecapitalism.ning.com/forum/topics/calling-all-microcredit or wherever free market debates of end poverty are celebrated

This much is already cheerful future history, Told that the bank for the poor, which began in the villages of the world's poorest nation, could not replicate in a big US city, friends of Yunus enjoyed the entrepreneurial challenge of beginning Grameen America in Queens New York in the new year of 2008.

Its reached out to nearly 500 poor in its first year (the year that wall street banks collapsed) achieving Grameen's transparent 99+% repayment rates. If you know any under 25's with time to make a case study by interviewing some of the folks at Grameen America, their NY office said that could be fun.

Most of all:  the serious business of sustainability investment starts- which communities in USA need Grameen replications first or most? Where can Yes We Can movements save Obama's energies for sustainability from being wasted in Congress?

One possibility is that Chapel Hill N. Carolina may be ready and willing

The International Herald Tribune picks up the story.
Grameen Bank founder Yunus scouts US expansion
The Associated PressPublished: February 5, 2009
CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina: Muhammad Yunus of Bangladesh, a Nobel Peace Prize winner for pioneering a micro-lending model for the world's poorest to engage in business, said Thursday his formula can also help recession-racked American families escape poverty.
